The common name for these is an ILOC and they are available in all sorts of diameters and formats, clamp on and weld on. We fit quite a lot on the Golf 5 FSI as they often crack; the new cat from is VW silly money and aftermarket ones terrible quality. I always stainless weld them on for a professional look. This is a front pipe I made for a turbo conversion, part way through before fitting the wastegate pipe.

I have an account with Jetex (have done for what must be 30 years) and their range of Iloc’s is good, the one in the picture above is from them and all the parts for this projects exhaust are from them apart from the turbo coupling ring, brilliant company to work with.

I've Vosges it with him and flexiwrap around it. Nearside was actually loose and come away from the exhaust. Other side barely hanging on. Just driven around the green and parked up till tomorrow. Was a lot quieter. Can't drive it anywhere as UK police stopping people out in the countryside checking if it's necessary for them to be out due to the coronavirus.
Oh well. Next is find the major oil leak and find the switch for the oil temp guage
