    Hi Guys,

I recently acquired a 2016 Avant, which for the most part is a great car. However, following the lashings of rain we've had, my front sidelight went on the blink, followed shortly by the indicator; the indicator at first seemed to become dimmer and just the "top" section changing to orange when the indicator was on, before becoming completely extinguished as time went on. My sidelight has since returned and functions fine, however the indicator does not light up at all on that one side.

I understand that these are sealed units, but is there anything I can do or take a look at that my cure the problem before I beg the bank manager for permission to spend some more cash on the car to replace the entire light unit?

Any suggestions would be most welcome (and before it's suggested, I did debate losing the other half and just spending the cash anyway but that would be a bit unfair on the kids )

    Thanks

    Adam

Have you tried to remove the whole unit and check the wiring connection from the loom to the unit is clean and dry?

This would be my first thought as the sidelight has started to work again. You could also try and see if you can get your local dealer to give you some sort of good will gesture again if you don’t ask.

Thanks, I think I will try and get around to that today. The weather's not been the best to have had time to take the bumper off to get to the wiring loom, and I can't visibly see the wiring from the top of the car with the bonnet open.

Just remove the headlamp, from memory it’s just 2/3 screws accessible with the bonnet open. You will then have access to the loom.
