    Morning again experts!
Balance shaft mod done, decent turbo fitted . all seems OK . Starts, idles very evenly but won't rev to more than about 1500 rpm. ( Not been driven on the road yet. )

The mechanic's OBD diagnostic kit is duff so not done yet but can someone pre-guide me as to the possible causes. ( I've ordered my own but have to wait for it)
I have trawled the mass of forum pages and have yet to find a relatively definitive answer. .

Can anyone please answer or guide me where to look??

Crasher?? He who hath more knowledge on the darned car than Wolfsberg ? !!

    Kind regards
    Ted

They will not rev when not moving due to EU regulations top stop pollution (utter ****) but 1500 is much lower than the official cut point so something is wrong, a PROPER code read first, not some generic OBD misguidance.

Understood! Many thanks Crasher. I cannot, except by truck take it to a VW main agent 100 miles away.
However, is VCDS software adequate in your view? Or Delhi or Wurtenwow?

    Kind regards
    Ted

VCDS should be sufficient, I don't often have to resort to the dealer system ODIS except for security tasks, software updates or if VCDS lets me down which does happen.
