Anyone ever managed to replace the fake exhaust ? Looking at it - it doesn't look like there is enough room for it - but curious if anyone ever undertook this ...... adventure ...

Do you mean the fake tips? They are a pain in the **** to take off. Took me forever using finger tips to get the bugger off as it needed pulling out a bit so took it out and drilled the mounting holes bigger so I could adjust it.

I’m thinking that @Gomjaba ; might be suggesting replacing the fake exhaust tips with a real exhaust exiting through the bumper like it should.

I’m guessing it must be possible as the RS7’s exhaust has to get out of their somehow???

    Whereabouts are you based?

On some,of my previous A8s, (V8 & 2 x 3.0 tdi - different versions) I had the rear boxes removed to release more sound.
the eng8nes are inherently quiet anyway, and on a trailing throttle heard nothing.
Foot down with the V8 and it became competition for an AMG. Fabulous.
The tdis were a bit quieter and didn’t make much extra sound, but worth it at £130.

The place that did mine was in Welwyn Garden City at the Peartree Industrial estate. (Peartree Welding Centre) Good people, quick work and Lawrence knows how to fabricate.
They can do more if you want...

On my S8’ I just wired the exhaust flaps open.

Not just the tips. I mean the whole thing. Basically turn the fake exhausts with real ones, re-routing the actual ones.

Pretty much yea. Good point re: RS7. I fear though it won't be cheap one way or another as it requires a lot of work and no shop seem to have done it.

I am up in Cambridgeshire so WG isn't too far off. I am still deciding what to get. Gwyn may remember my ramblings around it but financially the S7 makes the most sense annoyingly. Even start to like the mpg of the Diesel but if I were to get the S7 (still can't decide PCP or cash) I obviously need to make changes and if those changes are possible, it will likely have to be cash or PCP with guaranteed purchase later (due to mods).

I will bookmark those guys, thanks. The only thing I disagree with you is around AMG LOL. The E63S just sounds like there's no tomorrow. Nearly put a deposit down but the problem with them is - their PCP sucks. Audi = lower payment but higher baloon, AMG = lower balloon but ridiculous monthly rate. #newworldproblem

If you PCP it, you probably can’t change anything or will have to return it to standard when it goes back.
