A6 Remote key infrared stopped working (not battery or sync)

Has anyone got any info about these remote keys? One of my keys just stopped working yesterday without warning (or being dropped etc) At first i thought it was the battery so i changed it but it still won’t flash the little red light. I swapped out batteries from my other key which works, but still no light. After trawling the internet all i can find in relation to keys is information on how to re-sync after battery change. There doesn’t appear to be anything about the key simply stopping working ( i.e. the i.r. Light not flashing anymore)
Surely there must be more people out there that have suffered from this issue? The internet seems to concentrate on battery and/or sync but thats no help.

sounds like it could be a dry joint on the PCB. time for a refurb? plenty of locksmiths take car of this these days
