Right, hoping one of you clever folks can help. Rear wiper has stopped working along with rear screen washer jet, windscreen wash jet and heated seats. Not noticed anything else not working. Front wipers are working fine so I don’t think the R/H stalk is broken.
I’ve checked the R/H fascia panel fuses and also those next to the battery and can’t see anything amiss. The car has DSG and whilst sat at lights in N I changed to D and the car felt like it was going to stall before pulling off jerky...kind of like a power surge. I noticed shortly after the rear wiper wasn’t sweeping. I’m thinking a failed motor wouldn’t affect the other features, so is it likely to be the relay? These appear to be a ball ache to get to, so are there any other things I should check before taking the dash to bits? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Common as across the VAG range because of an inferior quality French product , Valeo .

So the rule is don't replace with Valeo !

I have just done one two hours ago on a 2007, was causing a flat battery because the alarm siren is faulty so the alarm was going off but he did not know. When you lift the tailgate, water pours into the car down the wiring tubes and causes havoc with all sorts in the boot sides.

OK I’ll get the motor changed. I only plan to keep the car for another 18 months so can’t see the point in getting a brand new motor for £280. I’ll probably get a used original or a £40 cheapo. Anything I need to be aware of when it comes to removing the trim? I don’t want to break anything.

Yesterday I fitted a Febi motor, didn't have the dreaded V word anywhere on it. We retailed it for £90. To avoid shattering the plastic cover (particularly in the top corners) I use a plastic spreader tool with a slot, this slides in and compress the clip but you can't get at all of them so basically you just pull as hard as you can whilst someone holds the tailgate up so you don't **** yourself pulling it down.

How did you check fuses? I can't see beyond a blown fuse on this one since both the washer jet motor and rear wiper motor are usually wired thru same fuse. I would have thought it unusual? for both to die at the same time.
