Hi, I've just been quoted £900+ to replace a leaking thermostat on my A4 2016, Quattro, which sounds excessive. Any idea how much it should be?

I was just quoted £1400 to replace the brake discs and pads all round by one main Audi Dealer and £820 for exactly the same by another main Audi dealer, so my trust level is quite low at the moment!!

    Thanks

I'd be looking to an a local VAG specialist for this. It's mainly labour and not particularly technical so some big savings to be made on labour rates. Ive also put a specialist's quote in front of an Audi dealer in the past and they matched it. As you can see from your initial two calls they have some scope for movement !!

Good points! Is there a good way to find VAG specialists with good reputations? Is there some kind of qualification they can get from Audi? Do Audi give them access to update the online service portal? Thanks for your advice

A lot of specialists use technicians that have been trained up by Audi. A quick google search has shown a couple in Sussex. Read their online reviews and maybe pop in and have a chat. You will get a good feel for them from a conversation - do they use Audi OEM parts. They will not however be able to access your online service history - so keep the receipts !!
    Good luck.
