    Hi all,
Any recommendations on where to buy new front discs and pads for a 64 BiTDi?
And any recommendations on brand to go for?

I went for *******. Got both disks and pads ATE, but opted for the ceramics pads due to low dust and longevity.
Done this almost two years back and can only rave about the benefits.

Mine (Ultra) had factory discs but Brembo pads on them as the factory pads didn't last the previous owner much more than 15k miles. As always the factor discs fell apart before the 4 year mark (literally the two faces parted company on the last 3 sets!), so I replaced with Brembo all-round discs and pads. Cannot believe the difference between these and the factory parts, they are quiet, are wearing exceptionally well, and feel like you dropped an anchor from a battleship if you push enthusiastically on the pedal. Have done nearly 13k miles and there's almost no sign of wear on them, and they aren't rusting in the hub like other "non-VAG boxed brands" tend to.

FWIW, the price diff between buying the parts from GSF and fitting them myself, and getting a quote from ClickMechanic and getting someone to come and do them on the drive (actually he did them at his workshop) was so negligible that I opted to let someone else get all grubby!

I have put red stuff pads on mine with drilled n grooved discs. My biggest problem was the red stuff came without pad ware sensors and took two attempts to get correct sensor for the rear.
