Hey everyone i have just purchased my old A4 2.0 SE 130 back from my dad as it came back up for sale and i missed the car. Its a 2004 MY but it has a small fault. When i sold the car to my dad the doors worked as they're meant to from the remote fob, however now they dont and have to be manually unlocked using the lock in the door itself, the battery in the key has been replaced and this hasnt cured the fault. Also when you unlock the door with the key in the lock it only unlocks the drivers door and the others unlock when the ignition is switched on. Any ideas would be handy.
    Thanks in advance.

Check the loom between the door and the A pillar for broken wires, common problem.

We have two fob keys for our similar age car. One works, the other flashes red light but doesn't. Suuts me as I can carry it in my pocket without finding car unlocked, windows down, etc. Hard for you to tell if it is car or key if you only have one fob.

I've used VCDS to set door key to unlock all doors. Some cars have options to set this in the convenience menu on dash display.
