    Hi folks,
Just need a little guidance as to what to do. I am getting 2 fault codesin my car, a 2002 1.6 petrol mk 4 golf. The one code is p1180 ..linear O2 sensor pump current short to B+ and the other is P0135, O2 sensor heater circuit bank 1sensor 1.
Do I just change the sensor or is the problem else where and what is the difference between the codes. From what I can see and read it says it may be a wiring fault ..is that between the connector and O2 sensor or elsewhere
.Would really as appreciate some feedbacks dont want to change the see sensor and still have the same fault.
    Many thanks in advance again.

Both codes indicate there is a problem wit the pre cat lambda sensor.

many thanks.I have read that the p1180 code can sometimes be as a result of a broken wire from the body to the oxygen sensor plug.I have attched 2 pics ,1 of the connector at the end of the sensor and the other the plug into which the sensor connector attaches.
I read somewhere that I can test for a break in the wiring from the body to the sensor plug by attching a multimeter to pins 1 and 2 and seeing if there is a reading...should this reading be 12v approx and am i correct that it is across ins 1 and 2??20221026_161628.jpg20221026_191241.jpg20221026_161628.jpg
Like wise I have read that I can test the sensor by taking a voltage reading when connecting the positive terminal of a multimeter to the signal wire and the negative terminal to a grounded point and I should in the case of a good sensor get a voltage reading jumping around .1 to .9 v.
Am I correct in assuming the signal wire is the white wire in this case?( yellow arrow pointing to it)
