I purchased a pair of Febi wishbones to fit an a 2003 Golf GTi part no 19820 for the n/s. I just cant get the part to fit. After fitting the horizontal bolt loosley, I cant get the vertical both to fit. I need to somehow stretch the arm about 3mm to get the bolt in. Has anyone had problems with Febi. I am not too sure how the supplier will take it when I tell them that the part is faulty. I fitted the o/s without problem.
    Thanks

Febi parts are of the highest quality, we fit lots of them, a set on a Golf 2 this week and we stock Golf 1 to 7.

From VW the pressed steel PQ34 wishbone is not handed, VAG part number 1J0 407 151 C across the board apart from few types such as the TT and Cupra R, so that would be a Febi 11091. What you have bought is the ball joint fitted version so 19820 left and 19822 right. To get these in they need to be flat so the CV centre nut needs to be released and the hub pulled back out of the way, sometimes they have to be almost shoe horned in at the front because the location gets crushed when the old one is torqued up and I put the rear bolt in after the front. You could have a buckled subframe, it is not uncommon and usually it is the left side forward mount which is bent.
