    Hi all,

Had my car about 2 months now and no problems until today.

Pulled out to overtake and as soon as the car dropped down a gear the car lost most of its power and went into limp mode with the glow plug light flashing.....
As I pulled over to stop the engine management light is now on and constantly illuminated along side the glow plug flashing and limp mode.

Anyone had any experience with this situation/problem?

Car is booked in at my local garage tomorrow to do a diagnostic fault read.

    Thanks.

Interestingly I had a very similar problem a couple of weeks ago. I was sat through roadworks on a dual carriageway at about 40 mph. When the roadworks ended I pulled out to overtake and accelerated quickly, at which point the glow plug light started flashing (indicating a problem with the engine management) and the car went into limp mode. I pulled off at the next exit and got the manual out which said drive to nearest service centre, but when I switched the car back on the light went off and has stayed off since. I have scanned the car which reported the following which suggested a stuck turbocharger actuator:

Got a loan of a mates generic scanner and got the above message so hopefully nothing terminal....
Pitch black outside so will give a good look over tomorrow checking for anything obvious although I’m not hugely mechanically minded.

Thanks for all help so far folks!

Thought I’d update incase it ever helps anyone out.....

In daylight I’ve managed to check over the car with a good mate who’s a mechanic.
We found the intercooler intake hose had popped off so replaced with a more heavy duty jubilee clip and cleared the code with the diagnostic reader....

Took it a spirited drove and all is well.

    Thanks.
