    I recently treated myself to an Audi A4 avant b7 2.0T special addition. Loved the car had 88,000 miles on it. No sign of the cam belt being done so I took it to a local garage and had this done, about 15 miles after having the cam belt etc done the engine management light came on - P0011 - Cam shaft position over on bank 1. I took it back to the garage they first changed the cam sensor with no luck and my car stalled later that day. I returned to the garage and they determined that the timing chain would need changing.. I reluctantly agreed and the day it was carried out the car drove great and then about 30 miles later I had a low pressure oil fault and the engine rattled itself to pieces from an oil pump failure.

    This has resulted in me shipping the car off to Essex for a recon engine to be put into it for £2000... on top of all of my other expenses. I have just received a phone call from the engine specialists saying that the reason for the pump failure was bank 1 was having too much fuel dumped into it. This caused the oil to thin and therefore the pump failure due to a problem with the ECU. He is going to call me back with a price to fix this on top of the engine....

    What are people’s thoughts on this? Does the previous garage have any liability after carrying out the work on the cam, timing chain etc and misdiagnosing the fault I showed them from my diagnostic reader?
