Hi All, Please help!

I have a 2005 A6 TDI Quattro Avant (BMK Engine)

I recently went to start the car and realised that when I took the key out the ignition and opened the driver door the radio didn't switch off, then on closing the door the remote won't or lock the doors. go back in the car and put the key in and turn to ignition but nothing happens.. no lights no nothing. after a little guesswork I can lift the terminal off the negative put key in and on ignition and place the terminal back on and it lights up allowing me to start the car.

however a little inconvenient when you want to drive somewhere along with the fact that car is now permanently unlocked because I only have one key and that key doesn't work in the drivers door (only key lock)

please lord help me

I’d check all the fuses and stuff for water ingress....
have you been through any puddles?

Checked them today, all okay and no sign of water ingress anywhere

did you check the plenum chamber? bit between the engine and windscreen?
