    Hi

I have a 2014 A6 and the LED has failed in the rear left inner tail light. I've posted in the "wanted" section looking for a new light unit but I wondered if anyone knew if the LED tube light was repairable? It flashes on for a split second when I turn on the lights but then immediately goes off and stays off. All the other lights in the unit are perfect.
And the wiring has been checked by connecting the opposite side light in to that harness and it powered up perfectly, so I know the fault is within the light.

    Is it repairable?

Or do I need to replace the whole thing?

    Thanks

Have had the same issue (intermittent) have you taken of the unit... dried it out, cleaned the connectors etc... have people who sec it is die to a faulty gasket and moisture accumulating over time.

Have had this happen to me ; exact same unit/side.. and it goes away of its own accord...whether that means its moisture or a faulty LED cell I’m not sure...

Don’t think this is a repairable item... never heard of that.. plus not sure where you would source the replacement LED strip/cell.. good luck..

Light removed and checked for water ingress....all dry and seal in good condition. Both sides similar.
Off side connected to near side and it powered all the lights correctly so it's definitely the light unit.

I don't think it's repairable either but wondered if anyone has success with an attempt.

There are cheaper units available on eBay.. unless you are lucky in picking up a tested second hand OEM unit with a good history etc..

Yeah...seen multiple cheap units....but also seen a few pictures of them powered up and it the LED tube would appear to be a series of individual LEDs inside....which isn't what I want.
I have got the part number and the manufacturer so that helps.

I've also messaged a few breakers yards but so far no joy.

I believe it's around £250 from Audi, hence my search for a cheaper unit

I've ordered the leds as used in that guide you linked. Arriving Wednesday I think.
Since the light is broken I'm going to give it a go. My main concern is not breaking the plastic so if the repair fails I can refit to the car and order a replacement light.

    Wish me luck!!
