Sharan 2006 2.0TDI BRT what's going on?

Hello everyone. I have a problem with this car. Let me start from the beginning.
It started with EGR issue - got it sorted, cleaned and works ok. Since the fix something else went wrong and I'm not sure what to do.

Right now engine starts but once started it starts miss-firing, revs up and down and stalls. If I rev it up bit more I can keep it going but when engine warms up a bit and it stalls again I'm not going to be able to start it up again until is fully cold I think.
I had a word with couple of friends mechanics and they suspect temperature sensor, not gone completly but showing faulty reading or something which throws ECU off.
I had it plugged into the diagnostic computer and only thing that showed up was "EGR vaccum solenoid valve, open circuit (05184)

I'm totally puzzled now.
I'm planning to change this temperature sensor but I know there is one right next to the radiator but I need to find another one somewhere on the engine. So there is a obvious question, where the hell is this sensor?

Pull the small vacuum pipe off the egr to disable the actuation circuit, then try it to see what you get.

If it runs more or less ok, then you'd need to investigate the operation of that circuit to fully diagnose.
