Whatsapp

had my new A6 SE Executive a few days, and loving it. It has the Tech pack and the Audi Smartphone interface.

one of the first things we tried was sending a whatsapp message using Android auto via the Voice interface, which worked first time. But we have not been able to get it to work since then. The MMI Interface seems to get in the way and it gets into the text message system.

I am finding all the various interfaces, Android Auto, MMI Connect, Bluetooth, Wifi etc somewhat confusing.

Has anybody got it working reliably ?

found it by accident, its the right arrow on the MMI Touch pad. This brings up the speech interface using this you can send a Whatsapp message

Can't say for definite for the A6 as I don't have the Smartphone interface, but the usual process for this generation of MMI is:
Short press on voice activation button on steering wheel = initiate dialogue with car voice control
Long press on button: initiate dialogue with connected smartphone.

May work.
