Hello, anyone knows about the vw group part numbers can please enlight me.

I have the part number for my rear coil springs which is 3Q0511115.

But are 10 variations of this having different idents letters after the part number like 3Q0511115AJ, 3Q0511115AK, 3Q0511115M, (a few examples from the bunch) which i assume it determines the weight load of the car.

What is the weight difference for example between the 4 listed? Are the 3Q051111AJ the softest? Are 3Q0511115M more heavy duty?

3Q signifies it is an MQB spring in the heavy ***** end of the range, lighter tails such as the Golf 7, Leon 3 are 5Q, 511 is rear springs and 115 the variation BUT there are many (at least 38) suffix variations of 3Q0 511 115 such as AH, AJ, AK, AL, M, N, P, Q, R, BC, S, T, AA, AB, AC, AD, BH, AE, AF, AG, BD, AN, AP, AQ, AR, AS, AT, BA, BB, BC, BE, CB, BS, CC, CG, CD, BD, LG and CE with ride height and weight loading differences so you need to follow your PR codes as VAG no longer reference the colour codes, private message me your reg number and I can tell you more. AJ, AK and M are all 1JA/1JP standard rear suspension in weight categories 0YB (range 2) 0YC (range 3) and 0YE (range 5) respectively. AH is 0YA (range 1) and AL 0YD (range 4).

Thanks @Crasher, you just confirmed a few of my assumptions like the Q being part of MQB and 3Q and 5Q allocation depending on tail of the car.

My superb has fitted 3Q051111AJ on it and now i got a set of 3Q0511115AK which did not fit yet to solve a weight load issue ( i sound proofed rear wheel arches on the back and boot spare wheel area ( known lack of sound proofing on superb 3v) by wich i added about 20 kg and now ride height with a full tank is 20 mm below specs, and if i add on top 40 kg of tools it looks like a lowered car kg the rear but front ride height is spot on on specs obviously.

What i want to achieve is bring it to spec ride height on the rear to compansate the weight( as obviously the way it is now does not look right and handling is slightly affected. I researched this in the ETKA and obviously is showing all sufixes as you stated matching my year and model and i narrowed down to standard suspension which are 10 sufixes starting with AH, AJ, AK, AL, M, N, P, Q, R, BC which have a vague description from my view weight load range 1 to 10; the rest up to 38 not relevant really to me as are for sport suspension, 4x4 and self leveling suspension.

I am assuming like it is with other makes the range from 1-10 was made up to compensate weight do to different options that add weight to the tail?

Now what i am trying to figure out is what difference in weight is between range 2 and range 3 to try to get the corect sufix range to compensate the weight i added.

What i know is only that the difference from range 2 3Q051111AJ and next one range 3 3Q051111AK is 0.2 mm in coil wire thickness otherwise same lenght. Just before opening this topic i realized that next one up AK most likely will not help and yesterday i manage to find a M sufix (range 5 i believe) but decided to research more before jumping spending the money.

What is the weight increment before ranges?

Is the PR code found on the label in the boot or only by VIN decode?

I will pm you a VIN anyway and the sticker picture from boot anyway.

    Thanks again for your input.

Some, but by no means all, pr codes are on the sticker. It is annoying that ETKA no longer shows the actual weight groups in Kg, just nondescript ranges.

I am under the assumption that ranges only changed in the way are getting marked on springs and actual weight load remained about the same as with the previous generations 30-35kg increments. And looks like the most basic and light superb is 1455kg compared with the heavy one 1721kg and are 3 different pr codes depending on suspension type: basic / sport / auto leveling; and all three have the same weight ranges. Got the AJ replaced with AK... And i think i might need a N rather then M on the rear to get in 391mm (G01) from center wheel to arch with a full tank of diesel.

Just an update, replaced rears with 3Q051111N (weight range 6), and now my measurement is 410mm with full tank, spare on. Looks like i need to go one range down 3Q051111M to have it in spec.

I will let the rear settle for a bit and recheck and if needed i will come down to N suffix.

Thank you again @Crasher for your help and info as i am getting close to sorting it now.
