Spoke to my local dealer as my B9 will be due it’s first service in a few months and I nearly fell off my chair when they told me the price of just a simple oil and filter change. I was quoted £275 for its first oil and filter change, and it’s oil and inspection change would be £419 + £92 for the pollen filter.

Has anyone else been quoted these prices? If so why are they so expensive now? My old B8 A4 was never anywhere near that expensive.

Take a look at the audi website. I think it says about £180 for an oil changer service. Assumong your car is a 2.0 A4.

Yeah but mine is not even a year old so does not qualify for the fixed price deals.

That's what I've been quoted, although the other way round - oil and inspection now and oil change next year. As the so-and-so who previously owned the car doesn't appear to have had it serviced, I'm coughing up for it, although they did offer me a two year service plan at £20 per month over two years, so I'll take that and then start looking around for an independent after that.

I bought 6 Litres of Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 and an oil filter element for £44.16 and £6.58 respectively.

The local garage did the work for £50.00 so all done for £101.
