My 2007 Allroad cv axle (Drivers side front)has disconnected at the gearbox mounting point. The hub end was seized and before the 6 retaining bolts were released on the end of the axle the mounting flange and spline have disconnected. Any thoughts on steps to repair?

Has your wheel bearing failed? Do you have a seized brake on the side that failed.

Does the gearbox output end turn.

If if the answer is no to the first 2 questions and yes to the last one then look to see if any work was done which would have removed the driveshaft as the screws may have been left loose.
