New A6 C8 tech pack.....

Has anyone installed speed camera warnings to sat nav on a new A6 with tech pack ?
i have seen some older threads but the MMi set up does not seem to be the same.
any help gratefully received and I am not a computer whizz kid !

Hi Don't think you can add cameras as it would effectively be illegal on the continent that is why they are not there in the first place. The only possible way would be from an after market SD card but that could cause you big problems with the sat-nav. There was something in a thread about doing this maybe a year ago, think the consensus was not to try but use your phone or other device to indicate locations.

If you have a C8 and a smart phone, use Waze via Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

Still have to plug it in (at least on the standard MMI - No tech pack). Personally prefer that as gives a good stable connection.

Think this is market specific and from what I can see requires the car to have WiFi activated, which in the UK means you have to have either a car specific SIM card or you have purchased a dataplan from Audi via the MyAudi website. In the US they get WiFi enabled as part of the Audi COnnect package and so they can use CarPlay wirelessely, albeit with varying degrees of success.

Unfortunately not

It’s wireless in the USA and can be programmed using obdeleven to be wireless

You can still buy a data package if you wish but it has no effect on the wireless car play

Basing my input on this thread Issue with Wireless Charging and Apple Car Play - AudiWorld Forums where posters are clearly using CarPlay with a wireless connection (ignore intial posts in the thread which talk about wireless charging)
