As in the title, Does the 2.0L engine in the Tiguan have the oil pump balance shafts? And if it does is it best avoiding or have they finally corrected this fault once and for all? Is it still the hex key design?

Is there only 1 diesel engine in the Tiguan of the 2012 / 2013 / 2014 / years or is there a 1.6L as well?


Generally speaking, is one of these worth buying or avoiding? I'll have a browse to see if theres a thread of its common issues now. Is there a timing belt or chain and does the dpf give trouble in these and what price is a new one from Vw approx can anyone say.
