Rear door exterior handle

The rear door handle will not open the door when unlocked. The door still opens from the inside so does that mean the cable hasn’t snapped? Has anybody had this problem, if so what was the fix? The handle also pulls out without much resistance if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I recall correctly there are 2 cables or one long one and one short swing piece and often the short one comes off or breaks. Unless you can get the handle to re-engage the short cable / swing piece end, if not broken, as many have in the past (search the forum), then it will have to be dismantling time.

Thankfully got it working after seeing a video on YouTube which involves turning the yellow screw on the side of the door card. Don’t know how it worked, but it did.
