Driver’s door will not open from outside

Car is unlocked but the driver’s door can only be opened from inside. What's more, the outside handle does feel a bit looser ie does not have as much resistance as normal. Is this likely to be a broken or unclipped cable or does this handle not work this way. Is it likely to be a big job to fix?

I had this a few weeks ago, mine is a 2012 but under warranty, took it to audi where it decided to work perfectly and has been fine since.

Iv had this on my 13 plate, i just had to lock and unlock a few times, or if that failed take the key out the fob and open manually

I’ve tried this with no success. I spoke with an audi specialist garage who said this is a very common problem and requires a replacement lock, which in now modified, and a new cable. Cost approx £250 and can do it on Monday (today is Friday). They have also done an A5 this week. Guess this might be an Audi part problem on some models. Not too impressed as car only done £15k miles. Will let you know more after door is stripped down.

I had this on a 2012 Allroad on both passinger and drivers door. The drivers went first then passinger a year later. Replaced both door latches myself and got the parts from Motors-in-Motion whos are specialist VAG breakers. It was a couple of years ago but think parts were less than £40 delivered. Once door card is off and you work out how to get handles off its easy. All tips are on youtube.
