    Hi folks,

Having an issue with my immobiliser (or something related).

Getting the "SAFE" warning on dash and the glow plug light is flashing.

This happened a few days ago while out shopping with no tools, so had the AA out and after a few failed attempts at disconnecting and leaving the battery and the long winded process of leaving the key in the ignition for 15 mins etc, eventually managed to get it going again by removing the clocks and plugging them back in. The car was fine for a few days after this.

Unfortunately it wasn't a one off, and it happened again today. Didn't have time to trouble shoot further as i was late for work. I've read it could be a multitude of things from relay, fuse, coil pick up in dash etc.

Would appreciate some help to diagnose.

You need a full car fault code read to see what is going on.

When it was scanned by the AA, it was just the Immobiliser code - which one i can't tell you. I will scan it later and report back.

Pulling the speedo and plugging it back in rectified the issue

Well I’ve just come back to it and it’s fine. No stored codes. Annoying as I want to diagnose it not leave it to happen again. Will report back if and when it happens - in the mean time if anyone would care to help me do any preventative checks etc that would be grand

seems to be an intermittent issue. Happened again today. Pulled the key out of the ignition, turned it on again and it was absolutely fine.
