The new bulbs are in. Must remember to close the back on them before turning them on for testing, as they don’t come on otherwise - meaning I take the bulbs out again only to remember I have to close the back.... d’uh!

Will check tomorrow evening on the way home from work as it will be dark then.....

The bulbs were £90 on eBay for a pair.

Well, they are a big improvement. The white light is white with no bluey tint.
    Brighter and reach further too.

I have only driven in town at night so far though, but am looking forward to driving out of town in the dark. (with a modicum of confidence!)

A8 Cruiser - well done for reporting back

I've recently pondered the same and hoped there is a solution. I have to say the standard lights are pretty poor.

Nice to know there are options out there.

Great to see people still trying things out on the old D3!!!

I have driven on the A1 with no street lights, country A and B roads and the result is much, much better.

I would go and get them again. Which reminds me, I need to buy a spare...

I am also getting to be a dab hand at fitting the things.

Thanks for the update, I wouldn't bother getting a spare as they seldom suddenly stop working, they just get 'pink-eye' and go dim.
By the time they do this there will probably be an even better type available and you will have one in the drawer of an older kind.
