    Hi all

My wife yesterday accidentally left the car unlocked for several hours due to one of the doors not being fully closed.

Should there not be some sort of audible notice if this was the case? She would have hit the lock button on the fob as normal and walked away.

On our previous RR sport if you were to do that it would beep twice to let you know something isn’t right.

Assuming nothing on the Audi exists otherwise I’d have heard it by now?

    Thanks

There is the activation of the audible beep through use of VCDS or OBDeleven. Nothing on MMI unfortunately.

I’ve done the same where the passenger front door wasn’t shut properly but the car was fully locked IIRC?

    Thanks.
Painful that such a basic thing has to be activated by one of these devices.
How can I do it without one?

Will Audi do it for me?

Don’t think they will but never know?

Where abouts in the world are you? Someone maybe nearby with the equipment to do it

If you're in for a service and the team are friendly they might do it for free. Otherwise will usually charge a nominal few £10 if they know what they're doing, or a full day if they have to phaff around finding the codes, etc .

Do people still keep them bleeping? If everyone on the street had a blip-blip whenever they locked car it'd be a bit annoying. We have lights flash, which seems useful enough.

Its all in my coding thread on this forum. So if the dealer can follow the steps in it and are happy too then they can do it.

Otherwise I'll do it for you, or anyone with vcds or odbeleven can do it for you. Or treat yourself to odbeleven for Xmas and do it yourself

haha cheers Andy - i would try and do it myself but knowing my luck I’d leave the car with all the systems reading out in Chinese - all for a beep 😂
