    Hi All,

I'm new here so apologies if this is old, I'm at my wits end with it and need some help please.
I've recently purchased a second hand VW Passat B8 2015 plate and it has the composition media, discover media (Generation 2) installed, I've had the car for around a week now.

The media system has an issue where it resets to 87.5FM every time I get in the car, and it wont save any of my presets or settings.
It also wont remember my phone, the system just forgets the next time I get in the car.
I've trawled a lot of forum posts, and it seems there are some bugs with these systems, I've found a really useful thread relating to MK7 Golfs here:
    VWVortex.com - MIB2 Update now available...

And I've seen an old post on this forum for Passat B8's here:
    Passat B8 infotainment bugs

I'm guessing I need a firmware/software update which can only be done at the dealer.
Does anybody know if there's a bulletin out there about this I can point the dealership to? I would like to avoid large diagnostic fees if possible.
Could I do it myself by flashing the system with an OBD tool?

I've been round the loop of maybe it's the battery, maybe the constant 12v etc and ruled those out, the only things left are either a duff media system, or it needs an update I think, unless anyone can think of anything else.
Really grateful for any help anyone can give.

    These are my Infotainment Versions

    Device Number: 3Q0035874A
    Hardware: 820
    Software: 0611

I do have a three month warranty from the second hand dealer, so need to check with them if this is covered but they've been pretty useless so far.

    Cheers all,
    Lee

im new too here so i might be talking out of my ****, but radios have 2 power sources one live to keep the stations and tuning and the other is the ignition assuming both are fused, check the fuses, back in the day before cars had built in radios whenever i fitted a radio i would connect them together so it was always live. you should be able to power up the radio without turning on the ignition, if you cant.. it might be a fuse. I know you have ruled it out but check anyway - i have the same one same year and mine is fine, so...
