good luck mate... Not as bad as your case, but I was in for a straightforward front brake job - discs and pads.. now car's back with them for 4 days and counting for intermittent brake lights on dash (which was never on before they touched the brake) says alot lol... at least they are apologetic about it and offered me a nice brand new A6 Avant loaner which is a lot nicer than the standard Q2, Q3 they've been handing out... hopefully the job will be done properly this time around after they've taken their time on it..

Was told the car's all fixed today, they've replaced sensors, wirings and tested fine... as soon as I got into the car, theh light came back on again -_-! A simple system not that easy to get right apparently.. left the car with them, need to go back the fourth time, hopefully that will the last time.

I bring news, unfortunately pretty bad. After two weeks the dealer contacted me and informed that they changed for the second time the camshafts but the noise is still present. After the disassembled partially the engine they observer that the 1st pinion of the timing change is misaligned and the need to realign it, but for this they will have to take out the engine and disassemble it completely to see what’s the underlying damage, this most likely will take extra time thus labor so I don’t expect to have the car that soon. On the other hand I really hope that Audi decides to completely change the engine and not to repair this one since I’ve lost faith that the dealer can handle this sort of a job.
Could this be caused by a fault in the way how they first installed the camshafts?

It is really a bad news. It does't matter what was the reason for the engine failure: dealer or factory. If the car is still on warranty I would strongly push Audi for engine replacement especially that this is another failure. Taking the engine out and it's disassembling is a very serious repair. It could open the "Pandora's box" since nothing will be assembled like in the factory. This is too expensive and too complicated car to take it easy. Couple of years ago I had also a serious problem with the engine of my Q7 4L and dealer's repairs caused later couple of other troubles. I would stop the repair and I would push on Audi.
I will cross my fingers. Good luck!

I got my car back just before Xmas. Brake light has not come on since, dealer told me that they have replaced the pad sensors, and later replaced some wiring loom probably got damaged when replacing the sensors... Also they told me the rear pad sensors have been replaced too???? 1. the job was for front pads and disks, 2. I thought the car only has pad sensors at the front... Difficult to get a real picture of whats exactly been done as always...Lol.. at least cars back too me and fixed...

Any news on your car tweetyblu? Really sorry to hear the recent development, hope Audi will fix it properly and replace the engine.. good luck!
