The wipers, blower, rear demist and passanger compartment blower have suddenly stopped working. I have checked all the fuses (all ok) and don't know where to look next. Model - 1999 VW Sharan. I have just cured (thanks to this site) a water leak into the footwells which affected the central locking . Don't know if this is a related fault. Any help would be much appreciated.

I went through a similar problem, would start by looking under the bonnet and look for water lying on a shelf just below windscreen if water lying there try clearing the drain holes either side ,water can find its way in through pollen filter located on right hand side as you stand at front of vehicle the drain holes are not easy to get at but persevere they are there, ,a metal coathanger straightened out is good,,if not that then if you are losing water from system as well i would suspect that your heater matrix may well be scuppered

First cure your water leak, as jaybee suggests - mixing water & the sometimes delicate electrics in these cars is not a good idea.

Your demist is probably not working as your car is saturated with water vapour, fix the leak, dry the car and it should be okay.

The electrics issues maybe due to connectors shorting out, loom damage from shorts, relays with water inside etc. etc.
