    Hi all

Approaching 1,000 miles in the Q7.

Dealer gave me a bottle of top oil when I bought the car. No idea what im supposed to do with it - assuming it’s a top up but how will I know if it’s needed?

Also I’m sure I’ve read in the past that some change the oil on new cars once it’s run in - would that be at 1000 miles? Is it worth doing?

    Thanks
    James

No, change It according to the manual every 30.000km or 2 years, in general the dealer always gives you a bottle of 1l of oil but I’ve never had to fill up in 60.000km.
    Enjoy your car!

Sometimes new cars use a little oil when new (I’m assuming it reaches some parts it couldn’t before running for a while).

You can check the oil level in the MMI when the car is stationary.

Only add oil if the level has dropped and given that you can’t be sure how much you need to add, try a little and compare the level once it has settled again.

Otherwise, stick to the service schedule agreed with the dealer and recorded in the car settings.
