Don’t take what an Audi dealership tells you as gospel. I ordered a new key on a car I had ages ago to find my car had had new barrels over the years. They then told me that you couldn’t get it cut and they wouldn’t pair it. First guy I called laser cut me a new blank which I popped into the new key id just bought. Took it back and the rather red faced service manager then got it coded for me this was after quoting me £1800 to have all the locks changed. Cost me £10!

The dash is the immobilser, the central locking is the convenience unit, two separate parts connected by the CAN BUS.

Won't lock or unlock the car , obviously new battery in the remote and red led lights on the remote when buttons pressed but car does not respond . As said previously Audi said the error codes on instrument cluster were stopping the signal from remote to the central locking but now that the instrument cluster has been repaired it is still the same hence the does my remote now new re pairing to the car by Audi ?

The radio remote certainly could need re-matching to the inconvenience unit... VCDS can do this easily.

Don’t know, if it is a fully functioning illegal one then probably, if it is the shareware then no.
