    Morning all,

My Golfs going to be parked up most of the week now due to being given a company car to put miles on instead of my own car. As a result the Golf will be parked up from Sunday night through to Saturday morning and seeing as the weather is now turning to cold frosty nights I’m considering a battery charger to help keep the battery topped up.

Has anyone got any recommendations for a charger which will keep the AGM battery sweet for a while longer?

The default answers will be CTEK , but I look harder for the 'bang for buck' .

Everything a CTEK does including retaining the last battery type charging mode if power is interrupted or cut , but for less £ .

    Cheers Gaz,

Thanks for the link but my car will be sat on the drive open to the elements so I’m wondering whether that Maypole one can take the frosty and icy nights?

Most of the reviews I’ve glanced through seem to be positive and looks to be a good equivalent to the lower end CTEK ones.

I use it often ( multiple cars in family ) , in rain too .

I just cover the extension lead at the front of car with a suitable plastic container with a plastic car ramp on top for wind proofing .

I use a CTEK also. Keeping the charger inside the engine bay, wrapped in a bin bag.

Another vote for CTEK. Had one for two years and 'mode' button was sticking! Reported fault to CTEK and replacement charger sent from Belgian warehouse. Won't get that with a charger bought from China!
