    This happened me. I had managed to damage the switch in the tailgate lock area. It's actually quite fragile. You can't bypass this switch as it is a dual fail-safe type construction. I had it from Audi the next day and fitted it in a few minutes. Around €20 if I recall properly.

    Yep this happened to me too, it was the boot close switch, fragile plastic rubbish. Replaced by Audi under warranty. VCDS never have any faults, but ODIS did which is what the technician had.
