    Hi all,

The central control switch (heating/aircon) only functions on setting 4 (max).

I can't think it's a fuse so perhaps a relay or solenoid somewhere.

    Any guidance much appreciated.

    thanks DJ

My dad's 02 polo (9n SDI) had the same issue (as did my mates Clio). Both were the heater resistor. In my dad's case, it was a fuse that had literally melted (had to wire in a New fuse). The Clio it was specifically the resistor in the matrix had failed

Resistor has 4 pins/ settings iirc. 1 is low, 4 is full blast. If you only have blowers working on the full blast setting it's likely to be the fuse, if you get full blast on all 4 settings it's the resistor

This being said the 2010 could be more complicated

Meant to add if you have a blown fuse, and it keeps blowing them, the resistor is packing up and needs replacing. Again not a hard job on the 9n (behind the glovebox) but not sure on newer models

Thank you. I ordered a new sensor which has everything on it. Yes it's behind the glove box. A nice job for the weekend.
