Mine has always had a lot of vertical movement/play in the gear stick. Doesn't effect gear change, but it's sloppy.
Is this a worn ball/socket under the gear stick. Easy to replace?

It was the plastic bush that surrounds the ball on the bottom of the gear stick. A replacement was approx £10 and fitted in 10 mins.
