Brand New S7 Vorsprung missing the Parking Assist Feature

Gomjaba - yes, mine does come with PCZ, but that seems to be ‘Parking System Plus’ which gives audible and visual aids to parking, and has the 360 camera. I won’t know if it will actually have the full ‘Park Assist’ capability until it arrives in March unfortunately. At the moment, neither I or the dealer, or even Audi customer services in the UK or Germany, seems to be able to give a straight definitive answer, to what should be a simple question. I’ve now been waiting 12 days for Audi UK to answer my query about this. Pretty disappointed about this I have to say!
I’ll update the thread as soon as (if!) I ever get a reply.

I’m in the same boat @Rolfie. Audi UK are a joke to be honest just from what @Gomjaba has put above and my experience with them so far. Everyone seems to be pointing the finger at someone else.

I’m hoping to have some communication back from them this week hopefully and I’ll let you all know once I do.

Right, if Parking Assistance Pack is on your spec sheet noted as PCZ - then as I mentioned before - PCZ is not self-parking :

Now I would THINK the same applies to you. Playing devils advocate here - as the S7 only has been released in autumn - I can't imagine they kill options weeks after release. A shame you bought via CarWOW - any chance they can clarify it for you? Either way - I bet you will have the same as Rolfie - so you should have the quoted Q5 spec above for PCZ - no automatic parking. Now what I DO wonder - you say it is prepped on the sides. I bet that is for the side assist and pre-sense ..

It is supposed to stop the car if you come out of a drive way and someone walks in front / from the side of your car avoiding an accident. I can imagine that is what the sensors are being used for - otherwise - how else.

I think based on that - I doubt there will be automatic parking in the S7 and probably has been discontinued before it was released.

BUT ... and there's a BUT .... going through the German configurator - it DOES show the Parking Assistant as Self Parking - BUT - if you spec it in German and you download the spec list - you DO get 7X5 - which is the self-park one.

Now what that means in my detective opinion ...

Parking Assistant got self parking in Germany (7X5)
Parking Assistant does NOT have self parking in England (PCZ)

As I say though - the S7 configurator in the UK doesn't show anything in (i) - whilst in Germany it does. So I bet when they said they remove it from the configurator in the UK - they meant exactly that and complaining about that makes no sense as they will always tell you specs are different in different geos .. otherwise I wouldn't have failed with every single new car in the UK to order a frikin parking heater that is common in Germany.

Although - the (i) on the UK site DOES show the Parking Button in the dash as screenshot - just not description ...

So unless your spec cheat spells out what each package actually means - I think you may not get anywhere with Audi - sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

But that is what I think happens now ....

For me personally it isn't a deal break per-se - the fact I'd pay for something but don't get - that would tick me off. What IS a deal break and I would def. go with the BMW I posted earlier - is when they remove Adaptive Cruise Control - because that is what made me switch (in my mind) to the S7 Vorsprung. If I end up speccing and this is removed - including HUD for example - I walk ...

Bad enough we have to deal with a fake exhaust and fake exhaust sound via speaker.

Well, I got a reply from Audi customer services UK this morning, saying that the Vorsprung does not come with ‘Park Assist’, and that it is not available as an option.
still had no reply from Audi customer services in Germany, but have sent them another email (in German), to ask again, if it is possible to pay to have this added, though I don’t hold out much hope!
looking on the ‘net, I have found a company, ‘SatnavSystems.com’, based in Surbiton, that seemed to offer ‘Park Assist’ as a retrofit. I emailed them, and they say it should be available for the 2020 Vorsprung in about 6 months time for circa £1,200 - £1,300 and they do the fitting. So, at least there is the possibility that we can get it added at a later date if Audi won’t play ball.

Edit: just watched their video - wonder if it is normal that it doesn't show the camera when parking automatically. Seems like you need to rely too much on tech actually (sure you can look over your shoulder, but still).

@Rolfie : No chance. I tried the same when I bought my A3, my A4 and even A6 - to retrofit the 'Standheizung' - even given them the order code and the part number. Nothing. They even refused to retrofit if I get the part directly from Germany.
Next step - haven't tried though - is ask a German dealer to fit it in my UK car .. would 'just pop' over.

Gomjaba - yes, will certainly let you know if I do get a retrofit. I agree, it does look odd that you don’t get the camera view when it’s parking. It would be handy to be able to double-check that it’s getting it ‘right’!
I’ll see how good (or not) the parking assistant is in standard form, as it may prove that it’s not really worth all the hassle of getting, and paying for the ‘Park Assit’ retrofit. We’ll see.

If the camera isn't shown then tbh - for me it is a deal breaker and pointless... As someone mentioned earlier - you probably end up using it once or twice.

I'd rather spend that money for a parking heater.

@Gomjaba I’m still waiting! I had a call from Audi UK the other day saying they are trying to get hold of the Sales Manager at the Audi Centre to provide me with a Mis-build form still.

I’m going to get in contact with the sales person I dealt with at the centre and see if I can find out what’s going on.

A quick update. Just checked my order progress on the Audi site, and it now says, “your Audi has left Neckarsulm”.
In the space of 1 week, it’s gone from showing “order received”, to. . . . It’s completely built and left the factory!
Seems unlikely it could have gone through all the production stages that fast, but who knows.
So, I now have no chance whatsoever of getting the factory install of ‘Park Assist’.
Also, I never did receive a reply from customer services in Ingoldstat. I’m generally not impressed with Audi at this point. Just hope the car itself makes up for it.
