Audi A7 2012(12) spoiler not closing completely

I have an Audi A7 3.0TDi SE 2012(12) 41k miles and the spoiler does not completely close on the off side..::

• It protrudes by about 10mm and does go back into the closed position if manually pushed.
• The dash button lights up as required
• There are no warning messages on the dash
• I have applied some WD-40 to the hinge, to no avail

Any ideas would be gratefully received..

Hi I had an issue a few years back with the "Spoiler system failure warning" in the instrument cluster and the spoiler was in a permanent up position.

car was under warranty and they replaced the Spoiler control unit and New spoiler mounting and Bracket, im not sure its a common issue but it was a long lead time of 4 weeks. sounds like one side of the mechanism is not retracting under its own power in your situation,

I would be interested to know what the issue is once you have sorted it,
