I wanted so much Apple carPlay in my previous Audi and now I am presented with plethora of different music options in the Q7 which is somewhat confusing.

Having read a number of posts relating to Amazon Music, Napster etc...just wondering what have our forum members gone for in the end as their preferred setup?

I would also be interested to understand how your preferred music play option via MMI works for two drivers with each having a separate key (i.e. does it store any of drivers media play preferences on the key)?

I have my “old school” MP3 iTunes collection on an SD Card in the glovebox (ahhhh remember the days people used to buy CDs and rip them, quaint), then use use Spotify via CarPlay for anything else. [edit] Key is irrelevant then, as all phones on family Spotify account to whichever one plugs in works. Or (annoyingly) sometimes my back seat drivers take over Bluetooth music control from their phones. Chaos ensues.

I understand your confusion, as I feel the same. What was the most confusing for me, that there are several music players in the Apple store, however a lots of them needs registering or a subscription, which I don't prefer at all. Fortunately, there are some of them, which looks and acts quite good. However, for me it seems, it's not possible to choose only one from these.

The problem is, that these softwares have different station list, so it's almost impossible to find all the stations in all the programs/systems. Therefore I use:

    - the Myaudi app's radio session, as this way I can use the full knowledge of the MMI - however I can only use it via Bluetoot, as if I connect my phone via the lighning cable then it stops working. (What a silly thing)
    - the TuneIN sw radio from the Apple store, it's working fine in the Apple carplay.

And well, of course I can use my SD card for the well known music without any mobile network connections/payments.

    I hope this helps.

I use Amazon Music mostly via the My Audi app, so once my phone is on Car Wifi, it picks up my phone ("Andy's phone found- loading personalised settings blah blah" on the MMI Screen), then I load Amazon music

I would use Car Play but I never plug the USB cable in.

Yes, nothing beats SD card / Jukebox when it comes to reliability. Re chaos, definitely with you on this, I know the feeling very well, LOL ;-)

I find Radio.net Internet radio really good as there are some nice stations available, but again connectivity seems to be intermittent. This could well be due to a mix up of my old and new myAudi / Audi Connect accounts.
I have now deleted the old account so will have another play with the entertainment services this weekend (new cars are so time consuming...).

I have Amazon Music as part of Prime, but never use it. Does the phone has to be on the Car Wifi for it to work?
Car Play is useful, but it's pity that it works via cable only AFAIK.

It's good that Audi is giving us the multiple media choice, however they always seem to leave it "wanting" at not 100% working (then they fix it in a new model)...

Btw, has anyone experienced issue of not being able to select music tracks from playlists via MMI large knob and iPhone running on iOS 13.1.3?

You can also put an Echo Dot in the center console storage, Aux in, power from USB port.. connect it to car's wifi or Phone hotspot, then you can use Alexa in the car with Amazon music, Tunein radio etc etc.

Updated my iPhone X to iOS 13.2 a couple of days ago and the issue of not being able to select tracks from playlists via Bluetooth in MMI has been resolved, it's working again now.
