i need more help i have just noticed the drivers footwell in my a6 c7 avant.passenger side and back wells are bone dry.i have checked under scuttle panel all is clear .water runs out straight away from drain hole .
i have recently had new windscreen fitted. but before i get screen fitters back and blame them . i would like to know if there is any other causes .i do not have a sunroof .and it is definitely rain water.

Did this only start after the screen was replaced? If so them I would be looking at a windscreen fitment and would get the company back out to look at the issue.

    hi
screen was done about 2 months ago but today is the first time footwell had water in .car is always outside but we have had sooo much rain lately and a lot of leaves falling .first thought was drains under scuttle panel .if there is no other explanation i will get back to screen fitters .but did not want to blame them if there were another explanation .

You could try this to locate where the water is getting in. Use a watering can with water in it with some sort of colouring agent such as food colouring, pour it over the suspect areas to find the leak. Remove mats and place kitchen towel down to make it easy to see the coloured water. Hope this may help.

    here is an update
windscreen fitter came yesterday checked windscreen adhesive/seal .ran a hose for 5 minutes on screen all different angles with internal A pillar trim removed and scuttle panel off nothing, not a drop of water inside .windscreen is not at fault.car is totally dry inside now as i ran dehumidifier in there for couple days about 3/4 litre of water in tank i will just have to put car back outside to see if it happens again and look further if it does .

What year is your car? Some of the earlier C7s had an issue where water could leak in at the bottom of the door where the speaker is. There is a long thread about it - see below:

Water leaking through front door trims

I had the problem on my 2012 car, but not on my 2016 car.

    Cheers!

I have this issue and from what I can see it runs down and in from the bonnet release handle

me and a mate stripped it apart and the seal around the cable and all is well......

I have a pan roof but again the sunroof drains are clear and free of debris. The A pillar is dry as is the headlining
What I have noticed is if the car is parked on a slope no water gets in.....park on the flat and water finds its way in

if you find a solution let me know as it’s frying my brain.......

I was thinking you have the Pan roof, chances are the cassette is cracked and leaking water in. if pointing nose down and not leaking my guess is the water is running down the B pillar. Have a search in the C7 sectionfor the pan roof leak thread, it should give you some help.
