Hi, I know I’m posting in the wrong place, but I can’t get onto the A3 thread as it shows locked for me. Maybe someone can move this for me, or help me out with an answer:
I have a 2012 A3 petrol 1.4 tsi. When the start stop activates and I go to pull away, the car almost always stalls. I can re try to start it by putting my foot in the brake and off again, which sometimes starts it, but other times I have to actually turn it off and start with key.
I’ve taken it to my local Audi specialist but they’re getting no faults showing up.
its been doing it for about 3 years and it’s giving me the bump! I have to turn it off, but there’s no way to turn it off permanently. Any ideas gratefully appreciated

I agree - disable it. You can get a coding dongle from Kufatec which you plug in and it disables the stop start or if you can get someone who knows what they are doing with VCDS they can adjust the voltage in the values for the stop start which has the same effect.

For reference, the voltage mod to disable SS:
    1. Module 19 (Can Gateway)
    2. Adaption (10)
    3. Go to channel: Start_stop_voltage_limit
    4. Change value to 12.1V ( default is 7.6V)

I'm trying to figure out how to disable mine in the new car but unfortunately my version of VCDS doesn't work with it!
Surprised the dealer hasn't tried to sell you a new battery if it is still on the original.

It’s due a service, so I’ll see if they can turn it off permanently. Why would the try to sell me a new battery? Is the battery likely the problem?... thanks for the replies!

I think there is a software update for this, check with your Audi dealer or an independent specialist that has ODIS.
