    Hi All,

    Golf VR6 inlet manifold??

The standard inlet manifold crosses over the top of the engine and surely this must absorb a great deal of heat??

So I have been looking at the short/turbo manifold, are these OK to fit to a standard engine? or is the clue in the name turbo?

    example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Short-VR6-Turbo-Inlet-Manifold-2-8-2-9-L-Exhaust-VW-Golf-1-2-3-4-Corrado/202310407306?epid=789495521&hash=item2f1aa3d48a:g: Jx4AAOSw7p5aZbae

    Thanks for all your help

It would ruin the low down torque delivery, I am building a turbo VR6 with a similar manifold from Schumer and to counter the lower compression and short manifold, I have taken it to 3L to compensate at the revs.

Getting there, almost every single part fitted has been modified or is different from what the car was built with...

and not only the engine bay, every single part and aspect of the car has been modified, rebuilt or replaced.

In short WOW that looks an awesome build. A great deal of time and money is going into that build. And all the electrics to sort out to? Did it start live as a mk3 cry?

It started as a 91 Golf 2 16v. I had put a new build 2L in his 88 five years before but the shell fell to bits so 19 years ago we put it is this and he wore it out so we built another and then about 5 years ago he decided to go the VR6 turbo route. We found the shell was rotten so it was gutted, stripped to bare metal and rebuilt with everything being altered plus a 6 speed Golf 4 box converted to 2WD. We scrapped two VR6 Golf 3’s and a rear end hit Corrado VR6 for the subframe and cross member. As he has the dosh, I spend it... next is the engine management system
