Looking at the parts diagram my guess would be that the original blank levers out, and the new piece snaps in with screws tp help keep it in place.

I think this what you are after. It is a bit rediculous they don't come with cupholders as standard!
It is indeed crazy that’s cup holders in the rear - that you get on nearly all cars - aren’t standard.

I have an A7 Vorsprung, which comes with basically everything as standard. Well almost.

My one optional extra was, you guessed it, £100 for rear cup holders!

    Nuts!!

TBH, when I have had rear passengers, they would use the door bins, or the car would be fully loaded with holiday stuff or all 3 seats taken.

No way I was paying £100 for something that should be standard.

On a flip side, the last time I has rear passengers in my old car. There drinks would not fit, so they needed to use the door bins anyway.

    Good Afternoon All,

Just seen this thread after doing some searching for a rear cupholder. - I've found a cupholder but before committing to buying I wanted to ask if anyone had fitted it themselves and have any advice? I see the O.P. had it done for them, but has anyone done it themselves on here?

    Cheers

I recently had a dash cam fitted by Chameleon and I cheekily asked the installer he'd fit the cup holder which he did. He said it was quick once he found a couple of screws?

I fitted my cup holder this afternoon.
It was simply a case of using a plastic pry tool underneath the ‘front’ of the panel, and unscrewing two silver screws.
Open the new cup holder on re-site the screws through the two holes at the bottom into the existing arm rest. Cover the two screws with the included small foam pads and fit the rubber discs on top to catch any spills.
It was far easier than I’d anticipated, and took no more than ten minutes. I wish I’d taken photos.
