Hello all, please can you help? I have just had my car serviced at the main dealer, where i explicitly instructed them NOT to conduct any emissions related software updates and overnight i have had a nearly 20% reduction in fuel economy. On a like for like drive of 400 miles i averaged 49mpg on Thurday and could barely muster the car to achieve 42mpg on Sunday. Is there a way i can check what software, if any, was installed in car car during the service? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like they've done it , well known for even when instructed not to .

Probably need VCDS / ODIS to look at ECU software version / date .

Drop in temperature may impinge on economy. If, they have applied the software cludge, and if you can prove it was against your direct instruction you may well have a case in law.

Try dvla website. You enter your reg and it tells you whether your car has any recalls that have not been done yet. I believe it’s specific to your car.

Can't you just call them and ask, they'll have records, "as you are just interested to know"?? Or maybe contact Audi customer services and ask them to see if the emissions software update has been updated?

I thought it was the case where as soon as a main dealer plugs the car into their system, as they would routinely for a service, software updates are automatic?
I've heard of plenty of cases where remaps have been wiped by software updates.
A software update doesn't always warrant a recall.

Yep automatic for any kind of ecu software update .

One indi thought maps were incripted and couldn't be wiped !

The ones with just Stage 1 and a poor dyno butt won't notice .

Good dyno butt , egr physically blanked and gutted soot nest will .
