    Hi everyone,

My drivers door will not open (intermittently) now using the door handle. I fear that this will be a major problem if it goes the same way as the passenger door which almost never opens using the handle.

I have VCDS... please see below. What should I do? Thanks in advance

I scanned the car and these came up.

Replace the door lock, they are a common failure.

The lock change is the only way to fix this.

One of the 2 micro switches is failing, they are potted in the lock as such it will be a pig of job to remove the potting without causing further damage.

New they are around £150 depends on how good a discount that you can get.

Try your local TPS as they may give you a deal, my local TPS has clamped down on selling to non trade buyers.

Still worth a try before the dealer.

Buying second comes with a risk that it maybe as bad as the one your replacing.

mines now fubar'd and going by prices on auto doc the drivers one is less expensive suggesting to me there is an extra bit in the passengers one. therefore a RH side one from a LHD car will work?!?!
