There are dampening panels made of a bitumen type material all over the floor, its possible that these still diesel under them which could have seeped in. Knowing for sure is difficult unless you sniff along each one.
If you have removed/replaced every other sound dampening material then there cant be much else left...

yes i saw that only thin strips though only about 1/2" wide in the ridges of the floor, not the old school type squares .but i have already replaced carpet etc but if that is all it can be i wont worry too much as it will disappear in time.given there was about a litre soaked into sponge under carpet this will be a very small amount ..the car is still in the garage at the moment once its out and about in use it will get aired out i will put the dehumidifier in there for a few days that will remove any fumes in the air . hey thanks for the info

Thats fine. Do some research online as to what would neutralise diesel and see if you can use that on that on the bare floor before you put the carpet back in
