Also you’ll get a steering fault until you’ve rolled the wheels and turned the steering wheel as the steering wheel angle sensor needs to re adapt.

You have to clear faults stored via vcds or another tool. Leaving unplugged over night is more to let anything that’s been ****** off with low voltage reset. Still need to clear codes.

had word back from garage, auto electrician has said the bcm & the ecu are duds, he recommends scrapping the car, is this a bit of an extreme recommendation ? bcm & ecu can be recoded from a similar vehicle ?

No idea what a bcm is but I’ve had a failed ecu on an A4 and I bought it for Ł30 on eBay and got it coded by an independent with proper VAG VPN kit for Ł25. Worked fine after that.

BCM is body contol module think its the board that controls the electrics, i think hes a bit extreme to say scrap car, cost me 2k least i can do is try to hammer down on a few faults, as said previously, these issues were not present when the car broke down and only arose after taking battery off to fully charge it. I will go to the car and see if i can get some part numbers for the ecu & bcm, seen a few cars by me breaking and also there is ebay
