Audi a4 2014 sat nav update to 2019 failure

I'm still confused on what should / will not change. Basically, my media version ie: HN+R and nav database version remains same after update......which took around 30-45 minutes .
ECE is 5.13.8 on 2012 registered car. I have the Audi plastic (DVD type) wallet the update card was in. I did have an active sim card for Google maps when this was done. When they took it back in to check .... 1 hour after I realised version hadn't changed..... they said it had updated and version numbers don't change?? Any actual Audi techs confirm what we should see?

There is no point of "version information" menu, if it will show factory version only, its for owners to check what version sw and nav they have. If nav version does not change after update- update was not fully performed or sw must be updated also! HN+ map update cant be only 30-45 minutes.
