Hi, this is my first post, having a headache with my 62 plate Audi A3 8P 1.6tdi.

It's an intermittent electrical fault, at first it was throwing up a few failures on the dash, always SRS, but would continue to drive fine, then went a few months with no faults but over the last few months has got worse with nearly all systems failing out of nowhere and unable to start the car as it also believes the brake system has failed. It would then hours or a day later start fine and allow me to clear all the fault codes.
Now though the car is pretty much stuck in this fault state and unable to use it.
I've been recording faults with Ross Tech in the hope to find a pattern with no luck, looked at different areas to fault find as well as had a look through the forums. I was convinced it was the clocks at one point and then wiring to the ecu but both seem to check out ok.

I now feel quite confident the ecu is the cause which leads to my main question, is there anyone able to program a new one in for me?? I'm in Reading. I'm hoping this will solve my problem or at least confirm that it's not the ecu so I can look at other possibilities.

If anyone also has any advice or had similar issues I'm all ears.
Sorry if its a bit long winded and thanks for any help, it will be greatly appreciated. It's really doing my head in now! 🙁

With the immobilisers etc you need the VW VPN to code them. I use a local indie who coded it for £30. He said every time he connects to the VPN VW charge him £15! There was a pre programmed sequence that we went through on the laptop after putting the replacement in and all in all took about 10 mins. I just limped it to them swapped it in the car park and they then coded it for me.

Thanks for the reply, £30 would be great!
I've only just moved to Reading, I don't suppose your indie is anywhere near? Otherwise I'll get ringing round on Monday.
    Cheers
