Please for the love of god and my sanity can someone point me in the right direction?
I fitted rear parking sensors, bumper off drilled the factory sensor markings the whole thing BUT I can not figure out how to wire in power from the reverse light which is in the boot door (its an estate).
All the guides and previous threads are talking about saloons but my reverse light (only 1, its an estate) is on the boot door so do I have to wire to it directly or can I wire to any of the other lamps?
Please help I am very near the petrol, lighter, wasteland phase of my insanity.
    :-/
    Then: '68 Bug
    Now: '07 Passat Estate
How did it all go so right?
    :-)

The supply comes from the central electrics unit which may not like being tapped into, you may have to wire in a CAN BUS adapter to the CAN lines and a constant power to take a reversing signal OR it may not upset the central electrics if you use the signal to power a relay. If you take a power from the reverse lights, it may be possible to stop it getting upset by having the soft coding altered IF there is a value in the long coding table. Do you have one or two reversing lights?

From memory of the wiring diagram, the feed comes into the lid on the right hand side at pin 2 of a 10 pin plug as a black/red wire so you could find this wire down in the harness run on the body side of the lid harness and take the feed from that, then see if it upsets the central electrics system and shuts down the reversing light. I can’t check the wiring diagram until Monday. Personally I would use the genuine accessory kit which is CAN BUS controlled.

I fitted a unit that houses the number plate, with just one sensor either side of the plate. Works surprisingly well. I just tapped into the reverse light wire, maybe I got lucky?
